Paisagens apocalípticas e uma crítica ao consumismo e messianismo marcam “Seize the Doomsday”, pesado novo single do Midnight Guest. A faixa abre uma nova fase na banda, que trabalha suas faixas entre o Brasil e o Canadá. Este é um lançamento da Electric Funeral Records.

“A música fala sobre ‘sobrevivencialistas’ radicais; aquelas pessoas que ficam estocando um monte de comida e armas à espera de alguma catástrofe de proporções apocalípticas. Comecei a escrever pois achei hilário como isso é explorado comercialmente, mas no final das contas a música acabou sendo mais sobre a vida de alguém girar em torno da espera de uma grande catástrofe. Às vezes é quase como que torcessem para que isso aconteça. É narrada na primeira pessoa, pela visão de alguém que se vê como – ou gostaria de ser – uma figura como Noé”, conta o guitarrista Daniel Stunges.
Ele criou o projeto em 2020 ao lado do vocalista Kjetil Landsgard, direto do Canadá, e dos músicos Tadeu Correa na bateria e Eduardo Oliveira no baixo. A gênese de Midnight Guest vem da vontade de criar dentro do gênero do occult rock, popularizado por nomes como Black Sabbath e Ghost, mas que também tivesse uma atitude punk mesclada ao metal.
“Seize the Doomsday” abre uma nova fase da banda após os EPs “Midnight Guest” e “Satanic Panic Attack”, além do single “The Hour of the Wolf”. O single está disponível em todas as plataformas de música.
